Our approach
Make room to learn.
Baccare is a K-6 learning-assistance platform built by a Texas parent for Texas parents. Every activity, printable, and hint is anchored to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), the standards the Texas Education Agency sets for every public school classroom. When a teacher says "we're doing fractions this week," Baccare turns that into the right ten minutes of practice at your kitchen table.
The name comes from an old English word meaning "stand back, make room." That is the job of a good helper: make room for the child to do the thinking.
What we believe about AI and kids
Ask Bacc, our homework helper, runs on Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. We use it deliberately and narrowly. The manifesto that guides Brigade Management's work with AI says it plainly: use AI to expand human capability, not to replace the human doing the work. For a nine-year-old, "the work" is the struggle of figuring something out. An AI that hands over answers steals that struggle and the learning that comes with it.
Hints before answersBacc asks a guiding question or shows a similar example first. It will not write your child's essay or finish a graded assignment.
Parents see everythingChildren never have accounts. Every Bacc conversation is saved to the parent dashboard, and anything off-limits is flagged for you.
Standards, not guessesContent is written to specific TEKS student expectations and cites them. The curriculum page shows exactly what is covered and what is not yet.
Kids verify, question, and thinkFeedback explains why an answer is right or wrong. The goal is a child who can check an answer, including an AI's, not one who trusts a screen.
Who is behind it
Baccare is a product of Brigade Management, Inc. in Plano, Texas, founded by Joe Beauchamp, a father of four with nearly four decades in information technology and a decade building data platforms for public safety agencies, where getting the details right is not optional. Baccare brings that same standard to your child's homework.
